Compressor Consulting Ltd was formed in August 2007 by Brian Keenan former Director - Energy and Machinery of BOC Process Systems. His associates are Chris Swann former Senior Project Manager with BOC Process Plants and John Warnke former Strategic Marketing Director with BOC Process Systems. In total they have over 100 years experience in oil and gas, chemical, air separation and power generation projects.

 In recent years, the merger and acquisition activities of the operating companies, contracting companies and manufacturing companies within the Oil and Gas and Industrial Gas industries has resulted in early retirements of key personnel and staff reductions. This has had a major impact on the knowledge base of these industries.

In addition, the highly competitive nature of some sectors such as air separation and hydrogen production and the lack of commercialisation of others such as Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) has meant that many projects have been financially analysed on the basis of low estimated capital costs, unachievable predicted power consumption, questionable schedules and unachievable availability and reliability assumptions.
